Fantasy Lingerie Review - Why You Should Buy Sexy Lingerie Online

Sexy lingerie. Erotic lingerie. Naughty lingerie. Hot lingerie. Fantasy lingerie.
Black lingerie. Holiday lingerie. The ins and outs to gift wrap your lover.

"Lingerie" comes from the Old French word "lingere" meaning linen, and is defined as
women's underwear and night clothes. In France "lingerie" applies to all undergarments for both genders. In the U.S. and England "lingerie" applies to women's undergarments, solely created to be erotic or visually pleasing, using the like of silk and lace, and does not apply to sensible cotton underclothes.

The history of lingerie.

The concept of lingerie being visually pleasing is a relatively recent one. The glamorization of lingerie really only started in the 1960's. The concept of sexy lingerie began to develop and by the sexual revolution of the 1970's really took off. Interestingly, the 1960's also saw feminists burning their bras. The feminists were convinced that women's undergarments were created "to impose control and order of the fairer sex".

In the first half of the 20th Century women's undergarments had 3 purposes: modesty, hygiene, and to alter the female form through the use of corsets, girdles and bras. They were often large, bulky, extremely uncomfortable and often very physically restraining. By the 1950's undergarments were becoming smaller and more form fitting.

The Corset. From the 16th to 19th Century various devices were used to squeeze women' waists to astonishing measurements of 16-17 inches. Note that Kate Moss, Jennifer Anniston and Heather Locklear all list their waist measurements as 23 inches. The envied hourglass shape was achieved by compressing the body at the middle and literally transferring the flesh from the waist to the breasts and hips.

The Girdle. During the 1920's the corset was slowly replaced by the girdle. These were more comfortable and less extreme. The girdle was considered an essential item, both for respectability and modesty. The girdle was designed to give a smoother more appealing line to the woman's shape. The bottom of the girdle had fasteners on it to clip onto stockings to keep them up. By the 1960's the girdle was replaced by the panty girdle and then again by control top pantyhose.
The Brassiere. There is some disagreement as to when and who invented the bra. Mary Phelps Jacob held the first patent, Feb 12, 1914, which contained the French word "brassiere". Her invention was backless and held in place with straps that wrapped around the body and tied in the front. It was designed to be worn with backless evening gowns, hiding the top of the corset in front. However, earlier, in Jan 10,1876, a patent was lodged by Olivia P.Flynt, claiming to be "specially designed as a bust support and improver".
Underpants. Aka undies, smalls, panties (U.S.), knickers (U.K.), bloomers, briefs, gorgeous gussies, and scanties. Until the 1940's the only purpose of the "bloomers" was to protect and keep the outer garments clean. They were not sexy or attractive and were designed only to be functional. Until the 1950's underpants covered parts of the thigh. When the thigh covering disappeared, the US term of the "panty" was created. However these were large, baggy, unattractive and white. Think "granny panties". Gradually, the panty became more colourful and smaller, with string panties emerging in the 1960's. Panties became an icon of sexuality once manufacturers started to use satin, lace and silk.

Peignoir. A floor length night gown. They are usually made of chiffon and are sheer. Although they are usually sold with matching knickers, they are often worn without. This is the perfect intimate lingerie for the girl who is self conscious about her legs.

Stockings and Garter Belts. The ultimate indicator for a guy that this is going to be a hot date! A tantalising glimpse of these and he will be putty in a girl's hand. The quick and easy access to the genital area seems to promise sexual spontaneity. The most popular color for the garter belt is red or black. While stockings come in all colors and designs, the two most desirable styles are the back seamed and the fishnet, both in black. Hot sexy lingerie at its most effective.

Teddy. A camisole and knickers all in one, usually with snap fasteners at the crotch. These can be tricky to purchase in the correct size due to body length differences. Unless it is made of stretch lace, this is one item that should be tried on before purchasing. Often perceived to be fine or luxury lingerie, especially when made in silk.

Where to purchase adult lingerie.

In this day and age, there is no need to be embarrassed about being spotted in the adult shop. Most department stores have a range of tame sensual lingerie. Lingerie boutiques have whole racks devoted to sexy lingerie. For the shyer folk, there are lingerie catalogues and numerous online sites where you can peruse to your hearts content. The mail order and website companies normally send your items in plain unmarked boxes.

Take the yawn out of your bedchamber! A passion pit is just at the end of the hallway!
Whatever your fantasy or fetish, erotic or sensual lingerie will add a spark to the slap and tickle.

Good Luck, Coco Swan.

A Man's Guide to Women's Lingerie

Age plays an important role when purchasing lingerie, although women are looking younger and staying healthier for longer periods of time. Today a woman of 40 looks like a woman of 30 did during the 1970s. Because we are taking better care of ourselves, exercising and eating better, many of us continue to look and feel young. When you purchase lingerie, however, you should be sure to get the right lingerie for your age.

While a young high school girl will look cute in boy shirts and a t-shirt, this look can seem ridiculous for a 40 year old woman. There are many different fads in lingerie nowadays and while young people can get away with wearing fad type clothes, older people tend to look as if they are desperately trying to recapture their youth when they dress in such a fashion. This includes lingerie as well as outer wear.

The same way a young girl probably would not feel comfortable going around in lingerie made with an older woman in mind, an older woman should take care that she wear age appropriate lingerie. This includes bras, panties, and night clothes. This does not mean that everyone over the age of 40 should start wearing flannel pajamas and cotton underwear. It simply means that it is important to dress your age, right down to your lingerie.

Because an older woman may tend to have more problems with her figure as time and gravity takes its toll on the body, she may choose to wear a support bra with an underwire cup. This will lift up what time has allowed to sag and make her clothes look and fit better as well. It is also confidence inspiring as there are many different bras that are made to lift.

There are also panties that are made with older women in mind that also lift up the buttocks, which also tend to sag a bit as we get older. Again, wearing such support style lingerie can make a big improvement in your outer look. Your pants will look and fit better.

When many people hear support lingerie, they think of thick, white bustiers and bras of the past. This is not the case anymore. Lingerie companies are making sexy, alluring and elegant garments with the woman over the age of 40 in mind. And because a woman over the age of 40 can usually afford to spend more on her clothes and lingerie than a woman in her 20s, an older woman has an advantage of being able to wear not only well suited lingerie that will show off her figure to its advantage, but also fine, designer type lingerie.

There is no reason why a woman of 40 can not look and feel as sexy going to bed as a woman of 20 in her lingerie. From teddies to chemise slips, there are a variety of lingerie items made for older women in mind. Much has to do with your body type. If you have gained a few pounds, you may enjoy wearing a loose fitting camisole top and tap pants that look good on all body types. You can also wear some of the silk chemise style nightgowns that are timeless classics for all age groups.

Nightgowns and peignoir sets are also timeless and are more appropriate for older than younger women. A teenager is not going to wear a peignoir, she would look silly. However, a woman of 45 who wears such a garment will look elegant.

When shopping, it is important to keep your age in mind, even when shopping for lingerie. Choosing the right lingerie for your age as well as body type will make you feel more confident and will allow your clothing to look better.

Silk, Vinyl, and Leather Lingerie Cleaning Guide

Even with the immense popularity of intimate apparel, there are still a lot of women out there who are not comfortable with wearing it. Whether you don't feel comfortable enough with your partner to introduce intimate apparel or you aren't comfortable enough with yourself, there is an air of intimidation to it for some. More often than not, however, it is self image that pushes women away from intimate apparel.

Usually it is self esteem that makes it most difficult to introduce such items into a relationship. Don't fret about it, however. Intimate apparel is meant to be special and different. Introduce it so you can enjoy it, not because you feel like you should.

When you know the time is arriving for the introduction of intimate apparel from your top dresser drawer or closet, there are some things you can do to be ready. For one, have your special item ready so that, when that time comes and the moment strikes, you are prepared. Shop around at retail locations and speak with sales associates to get an idea of what is right for you.

Another way of preparing for intimate apparel use in your love life is to keep it varied. When you buy your items don't just buy one style or fabric. Give yourself a chance to try different types and see how they make you feel.

A third way to bring in intimate apparel is to go slowly. Maybe at first, the extent of your introduction could be a sexy bra and panty set. Next, you could try a sensuous nightgown or teddy. Give yourself time to adjust before moving on to "sexier" styles.

Yet a fourth way you can take action is to find a reason to bring in intimate apparel. Remember that you don't have to wait for a birthday or Valentines Day to wear this type of sleepwear. Wearing it on a Thursday night can make that night special. Don't wait for a special occasion to bring out the intimate apparel, let it create a special occasion.

Lastly, communicate with your partner about how each of you feel about the subject. Ask him what types of lingerie he would like to see you wear. Then, in turn, listen to your partner, and find styles that will stimulate him. If he is stimulated, you will be too.

No matter what, though, the thought of intimate apparel goes a long way. That is, just by wearing or offering to buy the lingerie your partner likes to see, you are sending a message. With your actions you are telling your partner that you care about the physical needs and desires in your relationship. The intimate apparel, then, is a symbol of that desire and caring. So even if that first night it doesn't work out exactly how you had hoped, you will still have made an impression on your partner.

No matter what your size, shape, or color, intimate apparel can be a valuable part of your life if you let it. Sensuous lingerie can take your love life to new places, and at the same time, help you to overcome self-image and esteem problems by allowing you to allow yourself to look and feel sexy. Intimate apparel is not just about lust, but also very much about romance. By taking chances with this and other aspects of your relationship you can strengthen it. This strength comes merely from the gesture that intimate apparel and other things represent. It is about romance, and romance is about gestures.
