Sheer Lingerie - Throw A Lingerie Party
Most women flirt with the idea of wearing sexy lingerie once in a while, either to spice up a night with your special someone or to add some flavor to your wardrobe. Whatever a woman's reason is in buying lingerie, the most important thing every woman should remember is that you should feel comfortable in what you are wearing and at the same time feel and look gorgeous and wonderful.
Like with other dresses, not everyone will look great in the same piece of lingerie. The key in choosing the style that best fits you is to accentuate your best features. Here's the scoop on how to find the best style for your body type.
The best style of lingerie for you is those that show off more of your legs and your lower body to take away the emphasis on your breast size and upper body. You can also wear stockings and garters to accentuate your legs. To create an illusion of bigger breast, you should wear an underwire bra with a demi cup to help lift up your cleavage while still making them look natural at the same time.
If your curves are a bit more shy and don't show them self, the best way for you to enhance your silhouette is to wear some bold colors and patterns to give more shape to your figure. Babydolls with lace and ruffles will definitely touch up those curves. One thing you should remember is to not wear lingerie too loose or you may lose the figures you covet.
Petite women should find a style of lingerie that shows more of your legs to give you a vertical boost. Showing more of your lower body, legs in particular, will add an illusion that you are at least an inch taller. Chemises and empire-cut negligee that sits just above your knees will be perfect for a petite figure. Avoid long nightgowns because they will make you look shorter than you really are.
Lingerie Parties - Why Not?
Sexy lingerie. Erotic lingerie. Naughty lingerie. Hot lingerie. Fantasy lingerie.
Black lingerie. Holiday lingerie. The ins and outs to gift wrap your lover.
"Lingerie" comes from the Old French word "lingere" meaning linen, and is defined as
women's underwear and night clothes. In France "lingerie" applies to all undergarments for both genders. In the U.S. and England "lingerie" applies to women's undergarments, solely created to be erotic or visually pleasing, using the like of silk and lace, and does not apply to sensible cotton underclothes.
The history of lingerie.
The concept of lingerie being visually pleasing is a relatively recent one. The glamorization of lingerie really only started in the 1960's. The concept of sexy lingerie began to develop and by the sexual revolution of the 1970's really took off. Interestingly, the 1960's also saw feminists burning their bras. The feminists were convinced that women's undergarments were created "to impose control and order of the fairer sex".
In the first half of the 20th Century women's undergarments had 3 purposes: modesty, hygiene, and to alter the female form through the use of corsets, girdles and bras. They were often large, bulky, extremely uncomfortable and often very physically restraining. By the 1950's undergarments were becoming smaller and more form fitting.
The Corset. From the 16th to 19th Century various devices were used to squeeze women' waists to astonishing measurements of 16-17 inches. Note that Kate Moss, Jennifer Anniston and Heather Locklear all list their waist measurements as 23 inches. The envied hourglass shape was achieved by compressing the body at the middle and literally transferring the flesh from the waist to the breasts and hips.
The Girdle. During the 1920's the corset was slowly replaced by the girdle. These were more comfortable and less extreme. The girdle was considered an essential item, both for respectability and modesty. The girdle was designed to give a smoother more appealing line to the woman's shape. The bottom of the girdle had fasteners on it to clip onto stockings to keep them up. By the 1960's the girdle was replaced by the panty girdle and then again by control top pantyhose.
The Brassiere. There is some disagreement as to when and who invented the bra. Mary Phelps Jacob held the first patent, Feb 12, 1914, which contained the French word "brassiere". Her invention was backless and held in place with straps that wrapped around the body and tied in the front. It was designed to be worn with backless evening gowns, hiding the top of the corset in front. However, earlier, in Jan 10,1876, a patent was lodged by Olivia P.Flynt, claiming to be "specially designed as a bust support and improver".
Underpants. Aka undies, smalls, panties (U.S.), knickers (U.K.), bloomers, briefs, gorgeous gussies, and scanties. Until the 1940's the only purpose of the "bloomers" was to protect and keep the outer garments clean. They were not sexy or attractive and were designed only to be functional. Until the 1950's underpants covered parts of the thigh. When the thigh covering disappeared, the US term of the "panty" was created. However these were large, baggy, unattractive and white. Think "granny panties". Gradually, the panty became more colourful and smaller, with string panties emerging in the 1960's. Panties became an icon of sexuality once manufacturers started to use satin, lace and silk.
Peignoir. A floor length night gown. They are usually made of chiffon and are sheer. Although they are usually sold with matching knickers, they are often worn without. This is the perfect intimate lingerie for the girl who is self conscious about her legs.
Stockings and Garter Belts. The ultimate indicator for a guy that this is going to be a hot date! A tantalising glimpse of these and he will be putty in a girl's hand. The quick and easy access to the genital area seems to promise sexual spontaneity. The most popular color for the garter belt is red or black. While stockings come in all colors and designs, the two most desirable styles are the back seamed and the fishnet, both in black. Hot sexy lingerie at its most effective.
Teddy. A camisole and knickers all in one, usually with snap fasteners at the crotch. These can be tricky to purchase in the correct size due to body length differences. Unless it is made of stretch lace, this is one item that should be tried on before purchasing. Often perceived to be fine or luxury lingerie, especially when made in silk.
Where to purchase adult lingerie.
In this day and age, there is no need to be embarrassed about being spotted in the adult shop. Most department stores have a range of tame sensual lingerie. Lingerie boutiques have whole racks devoted to sexy lingerie. For the shyer folk, there are lingerie catalogues and numerous online sites where you can peruse to your hearts content. The mail order and website companies normally send your items in plain unmarked boxes.
Take the yawn out of your bedchamber! A passion pit is just at the end of the hallway!
Whatever your fantasy or fetish, erotic or sensual lingerie will add a spark to the slap and tickle.
Good Luck, Coco Swan.

Lingerie comes in many styles and materials and is conveniently available online (for those of us who don't particularly want to make a trip to Victoria's Secret). Online lingerie retailers ship their products discreetly in plain boxes so as not to spill the beans to the neighbors, your wife, or the person you want to surprise. With all this in mind, men need to become educated consumers in a world of lingerie that is primarily dominated by women. It is for this reason that I have taken it upon myself to write this informative "Man's Guide to Women's Lingerie".
Corsets and Bustiers: a history of lingerie
As recently as the 1830's, the corset was thought of as a medical necessity. Being that women were the weaker sex, they needed the support of a laced corset to hold them up for any length of time. Girls from the ages of two or three began their lives being strapped in daily to a tight laced corset. Unfortunately for the women, by the time they reached their prime they were unable to stand or sit upright for very long without getting the "vapors".
Early corsets were made from canvas, (plenty of that around from all the sailing ships) and had laces all the way up the back pulled so tight as to make it darn near impossible to draw a deep breath. Needless to say, the prevailing fashion (or fetish) of the day was a very small waist line.
Today's modern corset is made from softer and suppler materials such as silk, satin and lace, (as well as leather) to name a few. It is designed to accentuate a woman's curves, not to alter them. For many men there is nothing more arousing than the sight of a willing accomplice all dressed up in a tight little laced up leather corset, and it's a turn on for women too!
Out of the corset evolved the "Bustier", predecessor to the modern day brazier. It seems that men even back then liked to see their women's breasts pushed up and squeezed together! A bustier is basically an underwire bra that extends down to the waistline. Traditionally with a lace up front, today's bustiers can fasten in a variety of ways. Zippers, snaps, hooks and eyes, (remember the trouble we had undoing bras in high school?) even Velcro seems to get the job done. Keep in mind the fastenings when considering a lingerie purchase. The removal of these garments can at times try a man's patience. Remember the times when you've been asked to take it easy and slow down? Do it now, and savor the moment!
Another popular lingerie design is what's known as the "Teddy". Similar to a corset in design, a teddy is a one piece suit that starts out as a bustier, extends down between the legs as a thong, and ends up fastening to the back of the bodice. Simple by definition, teddies can take the form of something resembling a harness, to a full fledged zippered and hooked laced corset with an attaching thong. Many teddies come with garter belts attached, adding endless possibilities for some naughty, bad little girls' psychopathic imagination to run wild with.
For the truly innocent, perpetual virgin nice girl look, consider the "Baby Doll". A short mini hanging to the waist that can be worn with or without matching bra and panties, the baby doll is usually made from some sheer, lightweight material with varying degrees of transparency. The baby doll lingerie style gets its name from; well...you figure it out!
Today, ladies lingerie is easier than ever to shop for. Do a search on lingerie and you'll find a multitude of reputable lingerie dealers and merchants. Browse through their catalogs and you're sure to find something that stirs your, um... interest.
Sizing is an issue that must be dealt with, and a good lingerie site will have size charts easily accessible. While lingerie is generally pretty forgiving size wise, (a lot of lingerie is marked one size fits all) you should know at a minimum if she's a small, medium or large. If you see sizes like 32, 38, etc...why don't you just ask her her size!
When shopping for lingerie, keep in mind that a gift of lingerie should stimulate both you and your partner. Get her something that you like, and don't be afraid to push the envelope! Lingerie encompasses a huge variety of styles; from a couple of pasties and a thong, to an elegant satin and lace gown with matching bra and panties! Do not overlook the possibilities of Leather Lingerie. Leather has become mainstream and is not just for bikers and sado/masochists any more. Women love the feel of leather on their bare skin, and peeling off a tight leather teddy is a real treat!
Lingerie for your baby and you can't lose! Give her a gift of lingerie, and you do yourself a favor! The gift that keeps on giving - all year round!
